Bluehost Vs DreamHost ( Honest review 2022)

Bluehost Vs DreamHost

Web hosting companies like Bluehost and DreamHost provide you with the hardware and server resources that you need to run a website. You can host your own site, but it’s recommended to use one of the best web hosting services to save time and money.

In our Bluehost vs DreamHost comparison, we compare two of the world’s leading hosts. Both offer a range of hosting products, including high-value shared hosting. But are they equal? Which option can best meet your needs?

Here, we look at the two platforms’ prices, user interface, main features, and more to help you decide.

Bluehost vs DreamHost: What we compared User interface and setup.

Bluehost offers excellent beginner-friendly management tools via its main dashboard (Image credit: Bluehost)

Both Bluehost and DreamHost target beginners and offer fast, streamlined setup processes.

With Bluehost, you will immediately be asked whether you want to use the Bluehost website builder or install WordPress. If you select one of these options, you will need to work through a couple of short steps to get your site up and running. However, you can also skip this if you would like to use a different CMS.

The main Bluehost management dashboard is excellent. It contains links to and management tools for each of your hosting plans. You will also find a domain management portal, a marketplace, and various email and marketing tools.

The DreamHost dashboard is a little cluttered, but it contains a selection of great tools (Image credit: DreamHost)

For more technical management, Bluehost uses the industry-standard cPanel control panel. It’s beginner-friendly and easy to use, though it’s nothing too fancy. CPanel isn’t available with DreamHost, but its own proprietary control panel is arguably better.

DreamHost also has a central management dashboard. It’s a little more confusing than Bluehost’s, but it has everything that you need to host a new website or project. For example, the left of the main dashboard contains a menu that enables you to manage websites, domains, WordPress sites, email, and more.

Pricing

Both Bluehost and DreamHost offer a selection of shared, VPS, WordPress, and dedicated hosting options. Their shared plans are the most popular, and we focused on them here.

Bluehost has four plans, with prices ranging from $2.75 to $13.95 a month for an initial 12-month plan (renewing at $9.99 to $28.99). The cheapest plan supports one website and has 50GB of storage, while the other three support unlimited websites with unlimited storage.

DreamHost only has two shared hosting plans. The cheapest Shared Starter plan costs $2.95 a month for the first year ($6.99 on renewal) and supports a single website. The Shared Unlimited plan also costs $2.95 a month for the first year for unlimited website connections, but this increases to $12.99 on renewal.

Overall, DreamHost offers much better flexibility and value for money than Bluehost.

Bluehost's pricing plans Introductory price Renewal price Basic/Shared Starter $2.75 $9.99 Plus $4.95 $13.99 Choice Plus/Shared Unlimited $5.45 $18.99 Pro $13.95 $28.99

DreamHost offers unlimited storage and bandwidth, but there’s a catch (Image credit: DreamHost)

The number of server resources included with your plan will dictate how much traffic your site can handle and how many files you can store.

DreamHost appears excellent on this front, offering unlimited bandwidth and storage with both of its shared hosting plans. However, a closer look at the company’s terms and conditions shows that this isn’t really the case. Once your website’s storage or bandwidth use begins to affect the normal function of the shared server that you’re using, you will be asked to upgrade.

Bluehost offers similar resources. All four plans come with unmetered bandwidth. The cheapest shared option has 50GB of storage, and the other three come with unlimited space. But the same catch applies here as it did with DreamHost: if you start using too many resources, you will be asked to upgrade.

Customer service knowledge based.

The DreamHost Knowledge Base contains many excellent resources (Image credit: DreamHost)

Bluehost offers decent customer service through its 24/7 phone and live chat support channels. The team is friendly and responsive, although we do have a few concerns about the agents’ ability to help with technical queries.

Help is also available by requesting a callback from a member of the customer service team, but this costs extra.

On the plus side, both DreamHost and Bluehost offer excellent self-help resources. The DreamHost Knowledge Base is tidy, with a built-in search bar and cleverly chosen categories to help you narrow your search. There are many articles and guides, and the DreamHost Academy contains more general resources to help you create and manage your website.

Bluehost’s knowledge base is a little more cluttered and harder to navigate. But you can still use the integrated search bar to find what you need, and the resources are excellent.

It’s hard to separate the two companies here, but DreamHost’s lack of free phone or email support is concerning.

Domain registration and management

DreamHost domain registration page

DreamHost offers affordable, streamlined domain registrations (Image credit: DreamHost)

Both Bluehost and DreamHost include domain registration and management in their extra services. This enables you to register and store your domains alongside your hosting accounts, streamlining ongoing management.

With DreamHost, you will have access to a wide range of TLDs. Popular .Com domains start at just $7.99 a year, while budget extensions, such as .Xyz, start from just $0.89 a year. All DreamHost domains come with free domain privacy, which is nice to see, and unlimited free subdomains. You can even transfer an existing domain to your DreamHost account.

Bluehost is much more expensive, with .Com domains starting from $12.99 a year. Budget options do fall to a couple of dollars a year, but there’s a catch. Domain privacy isn’t free, and you will have to pay an additional $11.88 a year for this.

The DreamHost website builder integrates directly with WordPress

A beginner-friendly website builder can help you create a new site with a minimum amount of fuss. Both Bluehost and DreamHost offer some sort of WordPress website builder.

The new Bluehost WordPress website builder is great, albeit simple, and ranks among the best website builders. It enables drag-and-drop editing and is much easier to use than the native WordPress editor. You will be provided with a personalized theme when you get started, and all customizations are converted to clear code. Ongoing management is done via the main WordPress dashboard.

DreamHost’s builder is even more impressive. It’s integrated directly with the WordPress dashboard, which means you can access drag-and-drop customization from your main editor. The design flexibility here is excellent, and there are many tools to help you get the most out of your site.

Which web hosting provider is best for me?

DreamHost stands out above Bluehost on almost every level, from its prices to its advanced website builder and domain registration tools. Both platforms are aimed at beginners, but DreamHost just does it better.

DreamHost also offers better value for money on both short and long-term subscriptions. Its native dashboard is a little confusing to get started with, but no more than Bluehost’s cPanel control panel is.

Both platforms offer unlimited-everything plans and decent customer service, which is nice to see. But DreamHost surges ahead when it comes to security, domain registration, and the website builder.

Ultimately, we suggest going for DreamHost over Bluehost if you’re looking for a cheap, beginner-friendly hosting option. Look elsewhere if you need something more powerful.

Bluehost and DreamHost features, compared Bluehost DreamHost UI and setup Great Great Pricing Poor Good Server resources Great Great Customer service Good Good Domain registration and management Good Great Website builder Good Great Security features Poor Great What our reviewers said Alternatives to Bluehost and DreamHost

Hostinger is an excellent alternative for those on a tight budget. It offers some of the best cheap web hosting services that we’ve seen, with a focus on security and ease of use. Prices start from just $1.39 a month for a basic shared hosting plan, but there are plenty of more powerful options available.

If you’re looking for something a little more robust to build a WordPress site with, WP Engine stands out. It offers managed WordPress solutions supported by daily backups, an integrated WordPress website builder, and loads of developer tools. However, it’s expensive compared to Bluehost and DreamHost.

You might like to go for something even more powerful. Hostwinds has a wide selection of hosting products, including some of the best VPS and dedicated server systems that we’ve seen. It is expensive, but its plans are highly configurable and designed for large, resource-demanding projects.

DreamHost offers a suite of advanced security features to help protect your server.

Bluehost falls down with its security measures. At the base level, it comes with basic server monitoring and free SSL certificates. You can use Cloudflare to set up DDoS protection for free, but there’s little else included. For an extra price, you can access automatic backups, proactive server monitoring, and advanced malware removal tools, but this can get quite expensive.

Conversely, DreamHost’s security is excellent. Like Bluehost, it offers free DDoS protection and SSL certificates, but multi-factor authentication is available, and all DreamHost servers are protected by an advanced ModSecurity firewall. However, malware scanning and removal is only available with DreamShield, which costs $3 a month.

Once again, DreamHost takes the win here.

Hostgator vs Hostinger {best cheap hosting)

HostGator Vs Hostinger: Finding The Better Choice In Reasonably-priced Web Hosting Providers.

If you’re one of the few who are looking for budget hosting solutions, Hostinger and HostGator are probably at the top of your list. And rightfully so. Among the top names in web hosting, both are highly affordable yet offer reliable and fast hosting services.

Despite these great features, their reliable customer support available 24/7 becomes their easiest selling point, making help available to users anytime anything doesn’t work the way it should. This means a website that’s not only fast, but also always up and running.

As similar as both hosting providers may seem, there are key differences that will likely determine your choice. Read through to find out which provider is best for your needs.

Hostinger vs HostGator: main similarities

Both Hostinger and HostGator have comprehensive plans designed to fit the budget of users. The difference comes in the way these plans are laid out. For instance, HostGator has plans for users looking to start a single website, as well as plans if they’re building multiple sites. Hostinger’s plans, on the other hand, are categorized into simpler options.

Moreover, backups, easy integration, and SSD drives are all offered by both hosting platforms. Both also offer VPS, WordPress, cloud, and Dedicated Server Hosting and have a 99.9% uptime guarantee, as well as a money-back guarantee.

Hostgator price:Starts $2.75/per month

Price comparison

Upon comparison, you’ll easily find that Hostinger is the more affordable option with their lower-priced plans. Hostinger’s most basic plan comes in at only $1.39 per month. Their WordPress and VPS hosting plans are also cheaper than those of HostGator, priced at $1.99 and $3.95 respectively.

Hostinger’s basic plan lets you host one website, offers 30GB of SSD storage, weekly backups, and bandwidth limited to 100GB. This is best for sites not expecting heavy traffic. Other plans offered by Hostinger include cPanel hosting priced at $1.95 per month, cloud hosting at $9.99 per month, CyberPanel VPS hosting at $3.95 per month, and more.

HostGator’s shared plans start at $2.75 per month. This plan gives users a single website and includes free domain registration for a full year. Hostinger’s Dedicated Servers’ cheapest plan goes for $89.98 per month, while the highest tier costs $139.99 per month.

Ease of use

Beginners prefer both Hostinger and HostGator because of the simple interface you’ll find on both platforms, although they use completely different management systems.

HostGator went with the classic cPanel and native user interface, which makes the dashboard easy for beginners to navigate. This makes tasks and processes so much easier to tackle, not to mention faster. Their dashboard lets you access billing, the marketplace, and other main tools to manage your account.

From setting up your account to account management, Hostinger makes the process super easy and fast. Hostinger’s automatic account setup wizard helps from domain registration to account management. Once through, you can access hPanel, Hostinger’s custom control panel where you can process configurations to your account.

Both are relatively user and beginner-friendly, but we’re more inclined to go with the native interface and cPanel dashboard for now. HostGator takes this round.

Hostinger

Performance
Performance of sites often encounters problems when in shared hosting, one hosted site increases its consumption of the resources. It’s relatively inevitable, but HostGator safeguards their hosted sites’ performance by limiting how many clients each server hosts. As a result, HostGator’s sites perform well beyond expectations.

Hostinger’s high-performance solid-state drives alone make data load faster, resulting in an uptime guarantee of up to 99.9% and a relatively higher site loading speed, due in part to their servers being located in three continents.

Hostinger’s scalable servers make it an easy choice for reasonable pricing and quality performance. HostGator is not far behind in performance, but there’s no taking this spot from Hostinger.

Dedicated, VPS, WordPress hosting comparison
HostGator’s Dedicated hosting plans start at less than $90 per month. Pretty steep but when you weigh in the features and advantages, it’s a pretty good investment. Hostinger does not offer Dedicated hosting.

Both Hostinger and HostGator give you options for VPS hosting, with HostGator offering twice as much RAM at 2GB with its cheapest plan. Hostinger offers a dedicated IP while HostGator does not, but Hostinger limits its bandwidth on all plans while HostGator offers unlimited.

You’re also likely to find WordPress hosting from both, but Hostinger has cheaper plans and more options. HostGator only offers three plans to choose from and can host only three sites maximum, while Hostinger gives you up to 300. Both come loaded with features and benefits.

While HostGator should win by default with the absence of Dedicated hosting with Hostinger, the latter does offer more flexibility and proves superior feature-wise.
Website builder comparison
Zyro, Hostinger’s in-house and widely known website builder, lets you publish a website within minutes with an easy and beginner-friendly interface. With Zyro, building a website takes only three steps: choose an SEO-optimized template, drag & drop to edit, and pick a plan to publish.

HostGator’s website builder also offers the “build a website within minutes” feature. Unlike Hostinger, their website builder will require five (easy) steps to launch, which includes answering some questions, inserting your logo, adding your images, editing, and then launching the site. This website builder also allows drag-and-drop and has a simple and beginner-friendly interface.

HostGator and Hostinger’s website builders both offer non-complex website building, but since only Zyro offers a free trial, Hostinger takes this round easy.

Security
Neither HostGator nor Hostinger takes security and protection lightly. That’s why you’ll get a free SSL, regular backups, DDoS protection and server monitoring included in your plan with both companies. These backups are automated and while Hostinger lets you download and keep your backup files, HostGator wipes them out weekly.

When it comes to advanced security options, however, HostGator has additional security measures from add-ons that you can find on the cPanel. These features cost a little extra, though. Hostinger has some of these advanced features available without extra charges.

Hostinger’s security features are hands down more enticing, with the free advanced security features sealing the deal.

Customer support
As mentioned earlier in this article, both Hostinger and HostGator will have their support team ready to assist you anytime anything goes wrong to keep your website up and running. That means having their team on standby 24/7.

Hostinger only has live chat and email agents available, which means having a live agent is the fastest way you can have someone to the rescue if something isn’t working, which isn’t half as bad, except when you find out that Hostinger has phone agents ready to talk you through troubleshooting steps, on top of live chat support.

That said, we’d have to give it to Hostinger’s customer support team.

Verdict

The comparison we’ve just made has hopefully shown how close the competition is between these two popular hosting providers, which should help if you're stumped and cannot make a decision.

There’s not a lot of difference between these two hosting providers as both give great performance and offer their quality services in reasonably-priced plans.

However, when you take into consideration how much cheaper and more practical Hostinger’s plans are, not to mention a free trial to use their website builder and free advanced security features, Hostinger does get a huge advantage over its toughest competitor, HostGator

How to get rich with Bitcoin

     How To Get Rich With

    Bitcoin Even If You
    Have No Clue About Technology

The surprising wealth-building secret of a globe-trotting vagabond

    Dear Investor,

I’m writing this letter to dispel a popular myth: Many investors believe it’s already too late to make a lot of money with Bitcoin.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

    Here's why:

The incredible story of how I missed the boat on Bitcoin,

still got rich, and how you can do the same...

    The year is 2009.

I am sitting in my office in Asunción, Paraguay.

My office in Paraguay where I made a life-changing discovery

An intriguing document has just crossed my desk.

It was talking about a new kind of digital money called “Bitcoin”. As I read it, I immediately realized what a potential breakthrough this new technology could be.

But of course I was skeptical. Unsure if it would really work in practice.

I decided to buy a few bitcoins just in case it was for real and would go on to become successful.

After all, one bitcoin was worth just a few cents...

So I went online to see where I could buy some.

    But there was a problem.

There was no marketplace to buy or sell bitcoin. Bitcoin was too new. Such exchanges simply didn’t exist yet.

I knew there was a process for “mining” bitcoin.

But I didn’t want to spend days setting up an extra computer. And then install the software, figure out how it actually worked and keep watching over my mining computer.

It was too much of a hassle just to get my hands on some bitcoin that were worth almost nothing at the time.

So I decided to keep an eye on Bitcoin and monitor its progress.

    Fast forward to February 2011.

I had gotten busy with other projects and suddenly remembered to check on Bitcoin.

I was shocked to see that the price was over $1.

    I had missed the boat

Bitcoin had sykrocketed up well over 1,000%.

I instantly regretted that I didn’t take it more seriously right away and didn’t go through the effort to acquire some coins when I first heard about the technology.

    Then I had an epiphany.

The new Bitcoin technology was keeping its promise. Unless it got hacked or someone would find a fatal vulnerability in its software code it would probably continue to do well.

So I took the plunge and bought a small amount of bitcoin at around $2-3.

Bitcoin kept rising higher and by March 2013 I decided to take some first profits and sold 180 bitcoin at $37.

It seemed like a prudent move at the time.

After all, the price of bitcoin was up over 1,000% from where I bought it and had risen a crazy amount from its early days in 2009/2010.

I was also still worried that the Bitcoin network might get hacked.

So I pocketed a few thousand dollars only to watch Bitcoin shoot up to $181.

Meanwhile, the average person hearing about Bitcoin thought they had missed the boat too!

They looked at Bitcoin and saw a strange new form of money that went from mere pennies to well over a hundred dollars.

Clearly the big money had already been made. It’s too late to get in now... or so they thought.

That same year Bitcoin continued its relentless rise breaking $1,000.

In those early days I always thought of a thousand dollars per bitcoin as a magic round number and probably a good time to take some more profits of the table.

That’s why I sold another 148 bitcoin from my stash for close to one thousand dollars each.

     And that was...

My first six figure crypto payday

And once again, the average person thought they had already missed the boat because bitcoin came from nothing and was now valued at over $1,000.

This spectacular rise to over one thousand dollars turned out to be too much too fast.

Bitcoin crashed over 80% all the way back down to $200.

Proof! For the average person... Bitcoin was done.

    Dead

    A scam.

But nothing could be further from the truth.

Markets move in cycles. Nothing goes up or down in a straight line.

And this new asset class cryptocurrencies - is still tiny. And its volatility is still much higher than volatility for a mature asset class like bonds, stocks or commodities.

When the pendulum reached its extreme the bitcoin market once again changed direction.

In January 2017 Bitcoin was back at $1,000. (Keep in mind that was only 4 years ago.)

Once again the average person thought they had missed the boat.

We all know what came next.

    Bitcoin shot up to $20,000.

Bitcoin was all over the mainstream media and millions of people learned about this new form of money for the very first time.

And as you can probably guess, the average person who had just heard about Bitcoin thought they had already missed the boat.

Do you see a pattern here?

The bitcoin story is far from over...

In fact, it is only just beginning.

And right now, Bitcoin is starting its next bull run.

How high will we go this time?

Your guess is as good as mine.

But I think $200,000 to $500,000 is a reasonable target for this cycle.

Especially because there are many investment funds, banks, high net worth individuals and professional money managers with deep pockets about to get in.

This all but guarantees that this bull market will be one for the record books.

    This is your chance!

You too can make hundreds of thousands even millions of dollars with Bitcoin if you don’t miss the boat.

If you are new to Bitcoin the time to get in is now.

Bitcoin is a new, better form of money.

    Cryptocurrencies come with proven advantages.

And you need to know what they are - because you could make a fortune just by discovering what other wealthy crypto investors like me figured out a few years ago.

I’m going to tell you what those advantages are in just a moment.

All fiat currencies worldwide are valued at around $107 trillion.

This number is so big it’s hard to grasp.

    That’s $107,000,000,000,000.

Compare that to Bitcoin’s current value of just over $1 trillion.

For Bitcoin to reach only 5% the size of outdated fiat currencies its price has rise to $286,527.

And for Bitcoin to replace a mere 10% of fiat currencies its price has to rise to over half a million dollars.

Of course, that doesn’t happen overnight.

Bitcoin’s rise from a few pennies to $60,000 took over 8 years.

At first, I was sure I had missed the boat with Bitcoin. I got in when I was sure it must already be too late.

But, I still made so much money... I was able to retire in my 30’s and travel the world carefree with family

Right now, the price of Bitcoin is in the mid five figure range. As hard as it might be for you to believe... we are still at the very beginning.

Which means, you haven’t missed the boat. And there’s still time for you to make a fortune from Bitcoin’s next big move.

Not only that but, cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin will eventually replace fiat currencies.

Getting started with Bitcoin today, puts you among the first 1% of "early adopters" worldwide.

You can still be a crypto millionaire.

You’ll be well ahead of the masses. Billions of people will come after you and will have to buy at much higher prices.

    The only question is:

Will you get started today or when Bitcoin is trading at $50,000, $100,000 or even higher?
